Date/Time: Dec 12 2018, 8:00 pm to 1:00 amVancouver, The Backstage Lounge
On December 12th, 2018 at the Backstage Lounge on Granville Island, we are hosting our first-ever 'Ugly Sweater Sing-a-Long'!
This will be a collaborative event, where we are inviting various Vancouver local artists to come onstage to play their rendition of their favourite holiday tunes and to share some of their own original ones too!
Tickets will go on sale soon!
Sign up on the website www.soulanddesire.com! If you are wanting to join solo but wish to collaborate with other Vancouver artists, that option is also available on the sign-up application! We will do our best to help connect you with other artists.
Artists: To support your performance, we will supply you with some advertisement swag such as posters, cards, and online posters (PDF, .jpeg, .png) of the event to share with your own personal communities and social media platforms - together we can warm up our community with a seasonal sing-a-long! :D
Whether you buy a ticket or play music at this event, you'll be supporting an amazing cause:
All the proceeds from the ticket purchases will go directly to the Downtown Women's Eastside Centre! The goal is to raise enough money to pay for their holiday dinner, which will feed 400 women and children in need at the Centre. We will also be accepting donations on their behalf at the event, so we encourage you to bring what you can! Check their website http://dewc.ca/donation-faq for common items that are in demand!
Since 1978, the Downtown Eastside Women’s Centre has provided a safe space for women and children in the Downtown Eastside. They provide practical support, basic necessities and hot nutritious meals to over 500 women and children every day. DEWC support women to make positive changes in their lives by connecting them to a continuum of services including outreach, advocacy, wellness, recreation, housing and skills development. For more information about DEWC, please visit their website at www.dewc.org.
Please share this event along with your friends and networks. Let's all get together to support our community and spread some holiday cheer!
