How about Onam? No? It’s the harvest festival, and this one could be the craziest of them all! Mrs. Krishnan’s boarder, an overzealous wannabe DJ named James, has invited a few friends into the back room of the corner shop as a special surprise to celebrate Onam and the return home of her son. But when strangers turn up (the audience) and settle in, Mrs. K has no choice but to throw the party of her life!
Over one joyous evening, Mrs Krishnan’s Party magically transforms strangers into friends with a little Daal, a little dancing, and some serious laughs.
From the creators of The Elephant Wrestler comes a spontaneous theatrical celebration you won’t soon forget!
Don’t be late for the party! No latecomers admitted.
"The rich smell of the cooking—turmeric, cumin, garam masala, mmmm—is part of the fun. But the real magic is made by very funny Nagarajan with her killer smile and sly interactions with the audience”—Jerry Wasserman, The Vancouver Sun
"Just a delight to share this space and this time with 100 BFF strangers and these ever-so-clever actors with an ever-so-clever script of learned lines spiced up with improv. Just. Plain. Fun : Do. Not. Miss.”—Baird Blackstone, Broken Leg Reviews
"I feel revived…I don’t know when I’ve left the theatre feeling so refreshed and renewed”— Colin Thomas
"This is a party you won’t want to miss”—Kathleen Oliver, The Georgia Straight
"A delightfully immersive experience” — Mark Robins, Vancouver Presents
"You’ll dance, laugh like crazy, and become a part of the event…It’s beautiful in that it welcomes anyone and everyone”— Ash Tisdale, Two Cents & Two Pence
"Mrs. Krishnan’s Party is a beautiful reminder that family can be found and made anywhere by being open and accepting of each other, happiness is fleeting but the joy that we can find together in a moment lasts much longer in our hearts” — Charlie Upton, Two Cents & Two Pence
