This free concert is the finals of the 65th Annual Young Musicians Competition presented by Friends of Chamber Music. Cash prizes are awarded to groups of three or more young musicians - up to 18 years old for the Junior category, and up to 26 years old for the Senior category. Each group will play a chamber music piece up to 10 minutes long. This year, the musicians will play music by a range of composers in a number of different musical configurations.
Audience members choose the winners of special audience prizes of $500 to one junior and one senior group.
Our highly qualified adjudicator will be awarding further cash prizes after hearing the music. While she is making her decisions, audience members and the musicians can mix and enjoy cookies and juice in the lobby. Please consider staying to hear the adjudicator's remarks to the all of the musicians as well as finding out who wins the prizes.
