“One of the most exciting political comics in stand-up today.” – New York Times
His Netflix special “Warn Your Relatives” was released in 2018 and he was named one of Variety’s Top 10 Comics To Watch. Hari has performed on The Late Show with David Letterman, Conan, Jimmy Kimmel Live, John Oliver’s NY Stand-Up Show, @Midnight & has his own half-hour special on Comedy Central. He is also a former writer & correspondent on the Chris Rock produced FX TV show “Totally Biased with W. Kamau Bell.” Hari carries forward the time-honoured tradition of the jester who exposes hypocrisy and questions power. In 2017, he released his critically acclaimed documentary “The Problem with Apu”, tackling the stereotypical Indian character on The Simpsons. The documentary stirred an earnest international discussion about perpetuating cultural stereotypes. Hari has released two comedy albums, “Waiting for 2042” & “Mainstream American Comic” with the legendary indie rock label Kill Rock Stars.
Hari returns to Vancouver after a history of sold-out shows in the city, with his trademark skillful blending of the personal and the political. Don’t miss this chance to see one of the most exciting comic voices in the polished yet intimate setting of the Playhouse Theatre.
