The VanDusen Botanical Garden 2019 exhibition – July 19 to Sept 15 – will be showcasing over 100 hand-carved, original works from 50+ Zimbabwean stone sculptors. All pieces will be available for purchase and will also feature smaller sculptures, metal sculptures, hand-woven baskets and jewelry. For more information click here.
Visiting artist, well-renowned sculptor Walter Mariga will be sculpting in the garden daily alongside with Patrick Sephani.
Patrick Sephani is the founder and owner of ZimCarvings, What started as a representation of a small group of artists in 2012 has evolved into a company that represents over 50 different sculptors from Zimbabwe. ZimCarvings strives to promote artists by representing sculptors throughout North America and creating opportunities for their works to be recognized and appreciated on an international level.
