There is a happy coincidence of circumstances, when at one point all the most talented converge. The long-standing, dream of Maya Plisetskaya was supported by both composer Rodion Shchedrin, choreographer Alberto Alonso, and conductor Gennady Rozhdestvensky. In 1967, one of the most inspired ballets of the twentieth century, Carmen-Suite, was born. Clouds over the production have thickened such that they almost crushed talented work. The uncompromising persistence of Maya Plisetskaya and ... time helped. Time puts everything in its place. Now the brightest ballet stars from the Mariinsky Theater, St. Petersburg pay tribute to the memory of the great ballerina with their performance.

Alexandra Iosifidi is a soloist of the Mariinsky Theater, Honoured Artist of Russia, Her partner is the Premiere of the Mariinsky Theater, Honoured Artist of Russia Igor Kolb. Touching the repertoire of Maya Plisetskaya, prominent artists decided not to limit themselves to the capital's triumph. We, however, have been incredibly lucky that in November in the cities of North America we can simultaneously recall both the legendary Plisetskaya and enjoy first-hand the delightful art of modern ballet masters.
