It is the ‘land of the midnight sun’ in summer; in the days of dark winters the sun barely rises. With repertoire from North America, Iceland, Norway, and Russia, Tundra: Music of Northern Lands features sacred and secular music from countries that share the arctic tundra biome. The program will include works by Ola Gjeilo, Jón Liefs, Sergei Rachmaninov, Caroline Shaw, and the premiere of a new commission by our composer-in-residence Craig Galbraith.
