An evening so heavy it weighs a tonne. BC behemoths BISON return to the Rickshaw for Fuck February Fest. Prepare yourselves.
BISON
In the great Canadian spirit of loss and heart ache, from the west coast melting pot of shit and failure; in a country based on terrifying distance and lonesome, stoic suffering comes this noise. Violent like a cancer, an assault on anything that is good in the world. A heartfelt repulsion towards anything that could bring pleasure, because with happiness we suffer truly - the wanting of more. Gluttons! Pigs to the trough! Lead us to treachery! Lead us to solitude!
BOB SUMNER
"After years of making gold-standard country records as half of Vancouver’s the Sumner Brothers with his older brother Brian, the singer-guitarist has struck out on his own with a magnificent solo debut, Wasted Love Songs."
WAR BABY
With over 200 live performances under their belts - including opening slots for the likes of Eagles of Death Metal, Dune Rats, Pink Mountaintops, Death, White Lung, SNFU, DZ Deathrays, and Royal Blood - War Baby are a seasoned Pacific Northwest act despite their youthful hearts. Their RIYL (which runs the gamut of alternative, proto-punk and noise rock greats) is both relevant but also limited as they always stir their influences professionally.
HASHTEROID
Cosmologically heavy riffage from Vancouver's spaceman trio.
KILLER DEAL
Killer Deal is a four-piece rock’n’roll outfit from Vancouver, British Columbia. Channeling the sounds of rock’s 1970s golden epoch – Led Zeppelin, Humble Pie, Blue Öyster Cult, Thin Lizzy, and Skynyrd, among many others – Killer Deal is about to release its highly anticipated debut album “First One’s Free”
