In 2019, more than 30 groups (about 200 youth) showcased their initiatives and shared how they are impacting the community. The keynote speaker, Rochelle Prasad, founder and co-lead of Camp WE Empower, shared her story with the youth and reminded us all that “age doesn’t matter when it comes to making a difference.”
This event was guided by the Surrey Steps Up Youth Planning Team: a group of 15 youth who gathered bi-weekly for 5 months to plan entertainment, food, dancing, a photo booth and prizes.
