Digital Motion proudly presents the 6YR anniversary show featuring...
Kasra: "Kasra is a gatekeeper to what is under the surface in drum & bass. He does what he does with passion and care. He is a kindred spirit” – Goldie, Metalheadz
Mefjus: Hailing from a hotbed of talent, Austrian powerhouse Mefjus now boasts a worldwide reputation for a furiously tech trademark style that continues to breathe fire into the drum and bass genre.
With his place once firmly cemented as the ‘one to watch’ within diasporas of the drum and bass community, Mefjus came out swinging in 2012 with ‘Far Too Close / Distantia’ on Phace and Misanthrop’s Neodigital imprint. His rise to notoriety with a surgically precise yet skull shattering brand of neurofunk, à la 2013’s dance destroyer ‘Mythos’ with collaborator InsideInfo, has kept fans in a suspended state of frenzy ever since.
Signing to Critical Music in 2013, the futuristic super-producer continues to set the standard with a repertoire of turbulent soundscapes, flawless mix downs and heart-stopping DJ sets that secure Mefjus as one of the finest within the collective imagination of the drum and bass world.
With his debut album ‘Emulation’ slated for release in November 2014 on Critical Music, the future’s looking good for this extraordinary young producer.
The Prototypes: The end of 2012 saw The Prototypes come to prominence with the big euphoric dancefloor track ‘Suffocate’ on Shogun Audio. which receive support from Zane Lowe, Annie Mac, Andy C, Roni Size, Friction, J Majik & Wickaman, Pendulum, and DJ Fresh.
2013 saw the duo sign an album deal with Futurebound’s Viper Recordings. The first single from the album ‘Pale Blue Dot’ held the No 1 spot on the Beatport dnb chart for over a month with DJ support from Netsky, Chase & Status, Pendulum, Sub Focus, Sigma, TC, & more.
2014 has seen them go from strength to strength with ‘Just Bounce’ featured on Andy C’s ‘Nightlife 6’ album, the duo being signed to Primary Talent Agency and a summer residency on BBC Xtra Talent. The live gigs have grown with tours across the US, Australia, NZ, South Africa and Japan.
Entering 2015 and The Prototypes release their debut album ‘City of Gold’ in May on Viper Recordings featuring vocals from Ayak, Donae’o, Ayah Marar, Laconic, MAD HEAD CITY and Amy Pearson. The City of Gold album tour encompass over 50 dates and will see the guys playing at NASS, Urban Art Forms and the Tomorrowland festivals.
It’s not hard to see why the future has never been brighter for one of the most exciting production outfits in recent years.
