Sit in on a playful debate as astronomers discuss Einstein vs Newton’s theories on gravity.

Purchase a ticket for either the 7:30pm or 9:00pm planetarium show. Come early or stay late for a drink and to take in a live demonstration or interactive presentation. Doors open at 6:30pm and the night will come to an end at 10:00pm.

Our exhibit space will be open throughout the evening. Beer and wine will be available for purchase at the bar and we will also be serving desserts. Painting stations, activities and displays will be set up to take part in.

7:30pm or 9:00pm – Blonde Diamond Performance (Planetarium Star Theatre)
Musical guest Blonde Diamond will play a set of covers and original songs set to beautiful cosmic visuals in our planetarium. In between songs our Program Coordinator will take you on a journey through the universe.

Shaping a soundscape of dreamy synth-pop bliss with unapologetic, captivating lyricism, Blonde Diamond have been on a trajectory that is hard not to be dazzled by.

The Vancouver based dream-pop band have graced stages across Canada, Europe, Australia, the US, and India, sharing bills along the way with stalwarts such as Portugal. The Man, Broken Social Scene, Bishop Briggs, Chromeo, Mother Mother and more.

Two of our astronomy educators will have a cosmic battle and pitch their cases for Einstein vs Newton’s theories on gravity. Who hast the best hair style, which theory of gravity is better, who would be a better date? You decide.

Join us for a live demonstration about gravity. We'll be discussing Newton and Einstein's perspectives on gravity and how astronomers use it to study the universe. What is gravity? How has our understanding of gravity changed over time? We’ll answer these questions and play with our space-time table so you can see how gravity affects planets in orbit! We’ll also do some trivia and have prizes for the winners!
