Watch and cheer them on as Surrey City Council and the Senior Management Team (also known as the “City Slickers”) compete in a VIP match-off ball hockey game in support of Raising the Roof’s national Toque Campaign to end youth homelessness.
Show your support for this important cause by:
- Cheering on the City Slickers at 12 noon on Civic Plaza
- Participating in our Backpack Drop Contest. Drop off a backpack at the City of Surrey booth for a chance to win a $100 gift card to Guildford Mall. Each backpack dropped off = one ballot towards the draw.
- Dropping off donations of socks, underwear, hygiene items (no jackets or clothing) at the event.
About Raising the Roof:
Since 1997, the annual Toque Campaign has supported nearly 200 community agencies across Canada, raising more than $8 million to date in support of long-term solutions to homelessness. Raising the Roof has generated almost $4 million for local Partner Agencies working towards long-term solutions to homelessness.
Proceeds from the Toque Campaign benefit grassroots community Partner Agencies helping homeless people in cities and towns across Canada and support Raising the Roof’s national homeless initiatives, e.g. Child & Family Homelessness and Youthworks.
