Erica Stocking works predominantly in sculpture, installation and performance, and holds a Bachelor of Fine Arts from Emily Carr University of Art + Design. She has exhibited art since she graduated in 2004. In 2009 she was awarded Vancouver’s Mayor’s Art Award for Emerging Public Artist and has been awarded numerous major permanent public art commissions in Vancouver and Surrey. Her work has been featured in exhibitions at Artspeak (Vancouver, 2015), Western Front (Vancouver, 2013), the Contemporary Art Gallery (2010), the Vancouver Art Gallery (2009), Richmond Art Gallery (2007) and the Museum of Longing and Failure (Bergen, 2015 ). Stocking was a founding member of the performance art collective Norma. She lived in Vancouver’s Strathcona neighbourhood for over fifteen years, and is now based in Toronto.
