There’s more to light than meets your eye! Visit the H.R. MacMillan Space Centre this Spring Break and find out how astronomers use visible light from the Sun, infrared heat waves and x-rays to understand some of the mysteries of our universe.
Date/Time: Mar 21 2020, 10:00 am to 5:00 pm
Vancouver, H.R. MacMillan Space Centre | Event calendarAge: 8-12
Take part in special interactive activities focused on the theme of “light”, and check out their new Seeing! A photon's journey across space, time and mind show in the Planetarium Star Theatre, and a new live demonstration called Invisible Light in the GroundStation Canada Theatre.
In the fulldome planetarium show you’ll follow the journey of a single photon as it travels from a distant star across the vast expanse of space to land on someone's retina. Explore the astrophysical processes of the cosmos, and the biology of the eye and brain.
The Space Centre will be extending their hours over the break and will be open from 10:00am to 5:00pm daily. Special activities will be running from 11:30am – 4:00pm.
No registration required. All Spring Break activities are part of our general admission and are recommended for children ages 8-12 years old.
