Vancouver, The Orpheum
Designed by Scottish architect Marcus Priteca, the Orpheum opened in 1927 as a vaudeville house. At the time, it was the largest theatre in Canada. Today, the Orpheum is home to the Vancouver Symphony Orchestra and is celebrated for its ornate interior, including a chandelier hanging from the auditorium’s large, vaulted oval ceiling. BC Entertainment Hall of Fame will guide behind-the-scenes tours, filled with stories of the past and interesting tidbits for all ages. Designers from Proscenium Architecture + Interiors will be leading specialty tours at this site.
