Brekelmans, whose work is currently on view at CAG as part of The Artist’s Studio is Her Bedroom, will converse with Young Patrons and CAG Curator Kimberly Phillips about his process of material experimentation, his playful consideration of inherited visual languages and other conceptual concerns.
Steven Brekelmans:
Steven Brekelmans is a Vancouver based artist. He received a Diploma in Fine Art from the Emily Carr University of Art + Design in 1998 and an MFA from the University of Victoria in 2012. He has been featured in national and international exhibitions, most recently at Kamloops Art Gallery (2019), Hardware Applied Services (Bellingham, 2019), TRAPP PROJECTS (Vancouver, 2019), Chernoff Fine Art (Vancouver, 2019), Dynamo Art Gallery (Vancouver, 2018), Or Gallery (Vancouver and Berlin, 2015 and 2011), CSA Space (Vancouver, 2015) and the Museum of Longing and Failure (Leipzig, Germany, 2013).
