Join the Burnaby Lake Park Assoication as we celebrate the change of the seasons. We’re participating in the Regional Parks Snap & Share event and invite you to get out into nature. During the month of October, park visitors are encouraged to SNAP a photo of flora or fauna and SHARE their observations to iNaturalist app to contribute to Citizen Science!
The BLPA has a month full of activities in October to help you learn to use the iNaturalist app effectively as well as opportunities to increase the number of species that you can observe.
Pokémon Themed Nature Walk Using iNaturalist
Have you ever gone for a walk in the park and saw a pretty flower or cool bug and you wondered what it is? Join the BLPA for a Pokémon themed guided nature walk using the iNaturalist app and get to know that nature around you!
Pokémon Themed Walk
Join Pokémon trainer Josh's mission to snap them all. Capture the Pokémon disguised as plants and animals in the park though the iNaturalist app. Learn how to use the app while looking for specific Pokemon.
There are two Pokémon themed walks starting at 12:00pm and 2:00pm. In between the two walks there will be a walk that is not Pokémon themed starting at 1:00pm.
Pick one of the ticket time slots for the start of your iNaturalist Nature Walk. The themed events will be 1.5 hours long and the not Pokémon themed walk will be 1 hour long.
Themed walks will be limited to 12 participants per time slot.
