“This is an offering to you in sound and beyond: a pebble toss to ripple in your heart.” (Ayelet Rose Gottlieb)
When Ayelet Rose Gottlieb first started writing 13 Lunar Meditations: Summoning the Witches, she invited girls and women from around the world to choose the multilingual and multicultural poetry. Then she wrote an album of lunar-inspired music filled with intoxicating vocals and powerful instrumental lines that illuminate love and loss, mysticism and motherhood.
Featuring jazz legend Jay Clayton and Ayelet herself on vocals, the 13 songs tell epic and relatable stories from around the globe. And with an improv choir led by DB Boyko and thrilling players from across Canada, 13 Lunar Meditations invites you to embrace your quirky, energetic, and – dare we say – witchy sides.
It’s musical poetry for your ears.
Featuring Ayelet Rose Gottlieb (lead vocals), Jay Clayton (lead vocals), Choeur Luna conducted by DB Boyko: Viviana Caro, Laura Crema, Soressa Gardner, Carol Sawyer and Andrea Superstein, Eylem Basaldi (Turkish violin), Aram Bajakian (guitar), Stéphane Diamantakiou (upright bass), Ivan Bamford (drums)
Music on Main is back in full festival mode with epic and legendary pieces. Here’s your chance to expand your musical horizons and listen, together to amazing musicians and inspiring music.
How do audience members describe the Modulus Festival?
