Looking at the body as a living archive, Echo Chamber explores the residues of past dances. It looks at the body as a container for experience, pleasure, desire and effort. Echo Chamber is the newest work from Action at a Distance, created by returning festival artist Vanessa Goodman in collaboration with performing artist Ileanna Cheladyn, with original sound by Loscil and arresting lighting by James Proudfoot. Ileanna transports her audience to a hauntingly beautiful world thick with visceral physicality and full of soft, tender vulnerability.
Ghost Scripts, Pg. 1 is a new project by Internationally renowned choreographer and dancer Shay Kuebler, along with Radical System Art, his ensemble of dancers, exploring the language of dreams. Created in collaboration with James Proudfoot.
These premiere works were created with the support of artistic residencies at the Norman & Annette Rothstein Theatre.
The audience is invited following the performances to the Sidney & Gertrude Zack Gallery for a facilitated Talkback and casual reception with the artists.
