Co-created by and starring 2020 Chutzpah! Festival artist and genre-bending sensation Ben Caplan, this Klezmer-folk music-theatre hybrid is inspired by the true stories of two Jewish Romanian refugees coming to Canada in 1908. It’s a humorously dark folktale woven together with a high-energy concert about how to love after being broken by the horrors of war. It’s about how to love after being broken by the horrors of war. It’s about refugees who get out before it’s too late, and those who get out after it’s too late. And it’s about looking into the eyes of God.
Join fellow Chutzpah! fans for this remarkable musical journey, plus a special kibbitz with co-writer and star Ben Caplan. Ben will chat with Hope Forstenzer, director of the Sidney & Gertrude Zack Gallery, followed by bagels, schmear, and schmoozing. Offered at a special discounted price just for Chutzpah! fans.
