This concert will focus on the music of African-American violinists from throughout jazz history, from the almost mythical jazz violinists Will Marion Cook and James Reese Europe through the swing of Eddie South and Stuff Smith to the more modern sounds of John Blake Jr., Billy Bang, Leroy Jenkins and Regina Carter.
The Jaz'N'the Violin group includes pianist and vocalist, Tom Arntzen; Guitarist Daryl Jahnke; bassist Graham Clark and drummer Craig Scott.
