Forget DJ’s and bouncy castles. The pioneers knew how to party with live music, dance performances, interactive costume performers, carnival games, crafts and more. See it for yourself at this free, all ages family event, including:
- Surrey’s own re-enactment troupe, The Re-Enactors, recreating Surrey’s settlement years
- Dance worthy tunes courtesy of Michael Viens & Rosie Carver of Blackthorn
- Dance performances by the Brigadoon Highland Dancers
- An interactive bee workshop hosted by the Honeybee Centre
- Old-time moustache painting and family portrait photo opps
- “Along the Shore,” presented by the Surrey Archivist, a talk exploring Surrey’s Southern shoreline through archival photos, documents and reminiscences
- Interactive Costume characters, Danielle Girard, as Smiley the Frogtographer, and stilt performer, Michèle Christen, as the Sophisticated Lady
- The perfect excuse for a family picnic on the grounds with food from The Place Next Door Food Truck
