Region 17 is a member affiliate of the Arabian Horse Association (AHA), the North American governing organization dedicated to promoting and preserving the Arabian horse
Date/Time: Jul 20 2023, 10:00 am to 8:00 pm
Langley, Thunderbird Show Park
Geographically, we are the largest of the 18 AHA Regions, covering all of Western Canada including four provinces – Alberta, British Columbia, Manitoba & Saskatchewan, and three northern territories – Northwest Territories, Nunavut and the Yukon.
Many of Canada’s top Arabian, Half-Arabian, and Anglo-Arabian horses call Region 17 home. Whether you are looking for a national quality show horse, or a trusted four-legged family member, our members would be pleased to introduce you to the special qualities that have led us to fall in love with the Arabian horse.
The geographic size of our region means our championship show alternates — usually every two years — between Alberta and British Columbia. East or west of the Rockies, attending as a spectator or an exhibitor, you will find our shows are well worth the drive.
Our clubs host local shows from spring through fall. Whether you are working toward qualifications for the regional championships, just getting started in the show ring, or enjoy socializing with horse friends new and old, we encourage you to support our local clubs.
We also offer a pre-show leading into the regional championship just in case you need to add to your qualifications or refresh your show ring skills.
Whether your interests are in the show ring, getting out on the trail, or breeding future performance horses and trusted pleasure mounts, we strive to support the needs of all Arabian horse enthusiasts and soon-to-be enthusiasts.
Region 17 is the only AHA Regional championship horse show in the Pacific Northwest to feature Sport Horse, Working Western, and Performance classes in a combined show.
New classes include FEI-level english dressage and upper level western dressage; ranch riding performance and conformation classes; working western including in-hand trail; and adult equitation and showmanship classes. There’s a robust roster of open, adult and junior performance, halter and showmanship classes in sport horse and main rings.
