Echoes of the Big Band Era: A Free Concert with the Dal Richards Orchestra

The festival kicks off on Thursday, July 20th with a free community concert inside the Fort Langley Community Hall. The concert, called Echoes of the Big Band Era, will feature the Dal Richards Orchestra. Known as the King of Swing, Dal Richards was a mainstay of the big band orchestra era in Vancouver for many years. His legacy continues today with the Dal Richards Orchestra playing the popular music of the big band era.

Swing jazz and big band fans can enjoy all of the classics with covers of tunes from Benny Goodman, Artie Shaw, Glen Miller and more. Your captivating MC will take you through the history of jazz of this era.
