This lavishly illustrated book features a comprehensive survey of the artist’s career by Leung; thematic texts by Tavi Gevinson, Kathleen Hanna, Doretta Lau and Lisa Prentice, a methodological essay on Ahlers’ archive by scholars Alexandra Alisauskas and Jennifer Douglas; and Ahlers’ new artist book, Rabbit-Hole.
The event will begin with Sonja Ahlers and Godfre Leung in conversation with Doretta Lau as an introduction to the new book, followed by hands-on zine-making hosted by Ahlers, and a live musical set with Necking, who recently had a song featured on the Vancouver-shot series Yellowjackets.
Participants of all artistic skill levels are invited to collage, draw and write to develop a small zine while you chat, have a snack and listen to music at our book launch social.
All zine-making materials and light refreshments provided.
Free drop-in. Everyone welcome to attend.
