Mending is having a renaissance as we look for ways to counter the wasteful and harmful aspects of the textile industry. In this fun, relaxing workshop you will learn simple stitches, including sashiko, and mending techniques. Bring your jeans, jean jacket or other textile item to mend or embellish. Bring scissors and a bit of fabric that inspires you or the pieces supplied (fee includes most materials & supplies). Note: the gallery is closed to the public during the workshop. All ages & skill levels welcome.
Suzanne Northcott is an interdisciplinary artist whose explorations have crossed into poetry, video, photography, and textiles. In her work as an art instructor, Northcott works to demystify the creative process with humour and insight and aims to help students break through to new personal ground in their work.
