Sara Morison
Sara was born and raised in Montreal and came to Vancouver to complete her PhD in psychology at Simon Fraser University. In 2003 she shifted her path to art and began studying and painting. As time progressed her work became more and more abstract. Sara is inspired by the colours and landscapes of her travels to Bermuda, France, Italy, and across Canada.
Indian Art from the Edge supports Indian/Aboriginal artists, most from British Columbia, who live or have lived on "the edge" of homelessness, social and health challenges. The talented artists come from a wide range of Nations and heritages and work with a variety of materials – from highest quality "rag board" to birch bark, carvings on yellow or red cedar, pine, even compressed "composite" wood.
Featured artists: Alex Mountain, Bert Azak, Chris Turo, Darrel Amos, David Gonzales, Doe Sam, Edgar Allen Rossetti, Edwin Wadhams, Eric Parnell, Jay Coutts, Len McKay, Garnet Tobacco, George Matilpi, Patrick Hunter, Ron Solanas, Stephanie Kewistep.
