Introducing our new Friday Classical Afterworks series at the Orpheum! Showcasing conductors and soloists making their VSO debuts, these 80-minute classical concerts without an intermission are the perfect kick-off to your weekend.
Celebrated as “Powerful, emotional, romantic and dramatic” (The Guardian), Italian conductor and pianist Vanessa Benelli Mosell makes her VSO debut with a program tailored to her distinctive passion. Vanessa brings Philippe Schoeller’s Sereno Sole to life in its North American premiere, alongside Bartók’s playful Divertimento for Strings. Written months after the composer’s 18th birthday, Schubert’s exuberant Third Symphony pulses with youthful optimism.
