Learning how to use tools safely and experimenting with different materials is an essential skill for everyone to have and Maker Studio is just the place to go to get the practice and creative space to do so!
We also created Maker Studio to give you an environment that empowers you to listen to your gut and ask questions about your safety when working in a new environment with new tools. Our facilitators would love to have these conversations with you.
It’s back-to-school season! As busy as we are rushing back, we’d like to encourage everyone to arrive to school safely & sustainably — by cycling! Join us for September’s Maker Studio to make your own reflective bike decal that can go on your bike, bike helmet, or even panniers to help increase your conspicuity (aka how noticeable you are to drivers, pedestrians, etc)
Drop by the Tinkering Gallery after school to craft a one-of-a-kind creation. With help from our Makers, you'll imagine, design, create, and test throughout this creative process while practicing safe tool-handling skills.
Imagine: What will your reflective bike decal look like? Where will it be placed?
Design: Consider placement, size, spacing of multiple decals, and font sizes!
Create: Use a smart Cricut cutter to create what you designed.
Test: See how reflective the decal is when you test it in different conditions or placements.
