“Our sojourn in this universe is so fleeting and so perilous that the story of anyone’s struggle to survive is astonishing and poignant: we’ve all triumphed, been losers, been cowards, been heroic, desperate; terrified, bereft, loved, suicidal, ecstatic.” – Keith Johnstone, Improv Pioneer
In this highly personal and intimate show, our remarkable guests allow improv actors to act out key moments of their lives in front of a live audience. Backed up by a musical trio who will create the soundtrack to this amazing experience, the purpose of ‘Border Crossings’ is to honour the guest and to support the audience to enter the emotional territory of their life.
The show is based on Truth be Told Theatre Company’s ‘The Life Game™’ and invites members of Vancouver’s South Asian immigrant communities to offer their life stories as material and inspiration for this live performance. The guest could be someone in the public eye or someone unknown, who is willing to share their life with our audience. Spend an evening immersed in a stranger’s life in a way that you have never experienced before.
