Show us your Flower Power
Join artist Rhonda Weppler in a hands-on workshop and learn a new technique to add sculptural embellishments to your custom greeting cards and scrapbooks. Participants will use small molds and air dry clay to form flower-shaped embellishments that will adorn a greeting card for you to take home.
Show Richmond your muscle and sculpt your arm while you wait for your creation to dry in the sun. The same technique will be used and photographed by the artist to be included in a crowd image for the Minoru Complex community art project.
Background:
The Minoru Complex, currently under construction in Minoru Park, will be a 110,000 square foot multipurpose facility that will house aquatic and fitness services, seniors services and amenities to support the surrounding sports fields.
As part of the Minoru Civic Precinct Public Art Plan, a series of unique community engaged artwork banners have been commissioned by the City of Richmond Public Art Program and will be installed along the Minoru Complex construction site fencing. The artworks will be unveiled during Culture Days 2016, September 30, October 1 and 2, 2016.
