Vancouver collector and All Together Now exhibition contributor, Willow Yamauchi will speak to the history of her father’s drag queen ensemble and the handmade costumes once featured in their act. Local fashion historian Ivan Sayers will contextualize the fashion sensibilities of Canadian drag performance with historical narratives and illustrative charms.
Drag performances from the lovely Peach Cobblah and Isolde N. Barron will follow the presentations.

All Together Now: Vancouver Collectors and Their Worlds is on display June 23, 2016 – January 8, 2017 at the Museum of Vancouver. Taking inspiration from the eclectic cabinets of curiosities belonging to 17th century scientists, All Together Now exhibition features floor-to-ceiling displays of rare and unconventional objects from 20 diverse collectors, along with portraits of each collector and numerous tactile experiences for visitors. Interactive elements include playing pinball machines, trying on corsets, listening to long-forgotten bands, and handling historical artifacts, among others.
