Since 1999, CHMB AM1320’s “Solid Gold Singing Contest” has become one of our signature events. This event is heavily promoted by CHMB as one of our key annual events and the contest has discovered many new local singing talents. Solid Gold Singing Contest 2016 is also one of this year’s CHMB AM1320 43th Anniversary Celebration events. The SGSC Alumni singers and special guests will perform in the show.
One of the main features of each year’s show is the special guest singer. This year’s guest performer is Rowena Cortes. She is one of the well known Hong Kong singers and actresses in the 1980s. She made 13 albums from 1968 to 1987 and performed many roles with brilliant casts in six films. Some of her songs are heard in Cantonese - language series and films.
