Did you know some of the oldest living organisms on Earth are quietly growing on rocks and tree bark all around you? Uncover the hidden world of lichens through games, exploration, and close-up investigation. At Campbell Valley Regional Park located in Langley, learners will take a closer look and discover why lichens are vital indicators of healthy ecosystems!
This event will take place rain or shine, so please come prepared for the weather.
Registration cost includes admission to the Fraser River Discovery Centre. Pay when you register for this workshop, and the next time you visit the Centre in-person, you will be admitted for free.
WHAT:
- Learn about the unique characteristics of lichens.
- Observe lichens growing on rocks and trees.
- Discover how lichens can indicate ecosystem health.
WHO: While everyone is welcome, this workshop is aimed at children and their families.
COST: Includes admission to the Discovery Centre. Specific costs are listed below:
Family Ticket ($20.00) – for 2 adults and up to 4 children
Adult Ticket ($8.00) – Adult 19 and older
