As Vancouver’s first festival dedicated to queer comedy, Funny and Gay is about both showcasing the city’s LGBTQ+ comedic talent and helping build the community around it
Date/Time: Nov 15 2026, 1:00 pm to 10:00 pm
Vancouver, Various locations
The festival was founded on two very basic principles: being both funny and gay.
Over the past few years, we've seen incredible growth in Vancouver's queer comedy scene. From stand up to improv to drag, queer and trans comedians and producers have been creating spaces that are vibrant, joyful, and undeniably funny. We're literally busting at the seams with queer comedic talent, so it's about time we had our own festival.
FAG Fest is a celebration of that momentum. We want to showcase the incredible talent already thriving in the city while creating a space where audiences can discover queer comedy in all its forms. We know there’s queer comedy-loving audiences out there who haven’t found local shows they connect with - yet!
Aron MacDonald (they/them). Aron MacDonaldCO-FOUNDER/PRODUCER
Aron has been performing stand-up for two years. They host and produce Comedy in the Afternoon, Vancouver's daytime comedy show. They also co-produce, Boy-ish comedy, the only all enby/trans/dyke lineup in Vancouver. Aron's comedy explores queerness, sex positivity, and the absurdities of everyday life, delivered with sharp wit and an animated energy. Aron is also a visual artist with a focus on black ink illustration and acrylic painting.
Andrea Feltrin (she/they). Andrea FeltrinCO-FOUNDER/PRODUCER
As a hybrid filmmaker-comedian, Andrea’s been doing both those things unsuccessfully for well over a decade now. After dabbling in improv she transitioned to stand up comedy and has stuck with that since. She recently recorded her debut comedy special PITY PARTY alongside Arya Afshar and Lai Lai Liu with an impending release date in 2027. Her comedic style is mostly self-deprecating, drawing from personal misfortunes and stupidity. She previously served as the Event Manager at the Vancouver Short Film Festival. This bitch loves a festival.
