The West End Sex Workers Memorial Committee will unveil a commemorative monument dedicated to a community of sex workers expelled from Vancouver's West End in the mid-1980s.
For over 8 years, the co-founders of the committee, Jamie Lee Hamilton and Becki Ross, have worked to call attention to this history through their steadfast efforts of public advocacy, education, and outreach. The City has supported the installation of the memorial in the spirit of promoting the human rights of all residents and of reconciliation within our communities.
