Join us for an evening to honour the experiences of Surrey youth aging out of care
Date/Time: Oct 6 2016, 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm
Surrey, Surrey City Hall
This year, 59 youth will age out of government care in Surrey. Many face challenges in areas such as homelessness, employment and mental health. Surrey youth in care are also resilient and have positive plans for the future.
The 19th Birthday Party is an art installation that explores experiences relating to youth transitioning out of government care at age 19. Come learn about some of the work that community members of Surrey have been engaging in to support these young people when they turn 19.
Come to the reception on October 6, 2016, from 5:00 to 7:00pm. Welcoming remarks at 5:30 pm.
Or come view the exhibit at the City Hall Atrium. Exhibition runs October 3 to 7, 2016, from 8:30 am to 4:30pm.
