Archaeologist Genevieve von Petzinger has scrabbled over the rock art sites of northern Portugal, plunged into caverns and dived into remote Spanish caves that can only be reached by sliding face-first through the mud to make sense of these mysterious geometric signs and symbols that offer an opening into the Paleolithic mind.
